Since we were at MJNL's parent's place on Friday for dinner, we were not able to take part in my family's get together that night. MT and family were in town with the new baby, so we figured that we would meet up to see the new addition to the family. We found out that the clan was having dinner at DT 's place, so we decided to go over as well.
Before we went out for dinner, we went to my parent's place for lunch, and picked up the new filing cabinet. We had some trouble finding the warehouse, but after getting through on the phone, we were able to get the filing cabinet moved to the car. I had done measurements before, and discovered that the cabinet should fit in my car. Barely. I had, however, forgotten about the extra size from the padding and box, and I breathed a sigh of relief when the hatch closed without requiring any effort, and without deforming the box.
The cabinet was a little heavier than I had expected. From the box, the listed weight was 154.32 lbs. That was nearly as heavy as me! I did not realize how heavy I was until I tried moving this filing cabinet. We were fortunate that there was someone at the warehouse to help us load the car. We were also lucky that one of the concierges was walking through while we were trying to load the filing cabinet onto our dolly. (The dolly is such a great idea.)
But we were running late for dinner, so after wheeling the box into the apartment, we took off for dinner.
We met up with the family and there was tons of food and many stories to go along with the meal. We had to leave early because of hockey, and it was good since my team was a little short, and by the time I got on the ice, we had a four point deficit. But we tied the game in the last few minutes, and won the game in the shootout. It was quite an entertaining end to the series.
