[7:15 AM EDT - To the cottage!]

So I am going to a cottage today, which is why I am up so early this morning. In fact, I should be leaving soon. Very soon!

[Monday, August 6, 2007: No need to get up early.]

I got up early today because MIBAgentQ told us to show up at his place at eight so that we could leave at eight-thirty or nine. Well, I showed up at his place a little before eight, and there was nobody around. That included MIBAgentQ who was sleeping. In fact, nobody else showed up at the house, so I spent the time showing BL how to drive stick before the three of us went out for breakfast. By the time we got back to the house, it was determined that everyone else would be heading to the cottage on their own, so we left at around ten-thirty. (So much for the early start.)

The ride up was nice. The weather was great for riding, and traffic was not too bad. The route we took was not too good either mind you. For some reason the GPS directed us through the centre of every small town along the way, but we did make it to the cottage at a reasonable time. I was not used to riding longer distances so the vibration and the seats eventually gave me sore hands and a sore butt.

We spent most of the afternoon eating, chatting, and relaxing. I took the kayak out for a bit and realized how useless I was with the craft. It was fun though, and if I was actually in clothing I did not mind getting wet in, I may have gone out into the open lake and a little longer. There was a constant stream of food throughout, and we passed the time doing other stuff like throw the disc around and play on the (car) battery powered (toy) car, or watching the fire, etc. The kids had to leave early so we were left with a bit more than a dozen people when we watched some movies.

I went to sleep afterwards. I only brought a sheet to sleep with, since I did not have space to carry a sleeping bag, and that decision came back to haunt me. It was fine to begin with since I tend to generate a lot of heat when I am awake, but when I woke up in the middle of the night, I was freezing! In addition, the fact that I was snoring when I slept, and made noise on the plastic cover when I was awake must have made the others in the room quite uncomfortable. Ah well, we made it through the night, with tons of pictures to prove it!
