[6:11 PM EDT - Chores one by one.]

Okay, I've starting going through my chores and it seems like I'm making some progress! I picked up the heated grips from the store, dropped off the sleeping bag at the parent's place, dropped off the racquet to get restrung, picked up an extra helmet for cheap (although it's much too big), lubricated my chain, and put the second seat on the bike.

I have a few errands to run tomorrow, but I think I'm on my way to catching up on some of the things I was planning on doing.

[Sunday, October 15, 2006: Nice guy helmet.]

When I went to check out the helmet, I ended up talking with the guy about his bike and why he was getting rid of it all. (He had a little accident and broke his leg so his wife told him to sell it all. Pretty standard stuff.) He only had it for a year, and the funny thing was that the accident was basically the bike falling over in the parking lot and trapping his leg. Now that's a pretty silly accident.

When I paid for the helmet, he gave me back ten bucks. I asked him what that was for, and he told me,

"Because you're such a nice guy."

*blink*

Gift horse. Mouth. Not looking.

[Sunday, October 15, 2006: Driving Conditions: Hockey Traffic.]

I had scheduled this day very well. I had timed everything right down to the minute and made sure that I'd be able to get things done with time to spare. I had packed all of my equipment and got completely ready so that I could leave the apartment the moment Battlestar Galactica ended so that I could get to the arena, change, and get onto the ice on time.

Things went well. I got out of the condo quickly and reached the highway. There was not a lot of traffic so I was making good time. Then I saw one of those highway signs that read,

"Two left lanes closed after Bayview."

I started digesting that information when I saw a car zip from the passing lane all the way to the collector exit lanes. That took my attention because I had a truck in front of me and I could not see anything else. I decided to switch lanes and that's when I saw the sea of red. It was already much too late to get out of the express lanes, so I was stuck in traffic for the next fifteen minutes.

I had timed things so perfectly too!

Ah well, I didn't miss too much of the game, but we ended up losing by a goal. Curses! *shakes fist*
