[12:56 AM EDT - Snap! I've got the progress!]

Dang, I broke another elastic. These elastics are only a bit smaller than the ones I started with, but I'm having trouble yawning without breaking one.

Oh, I also finished the second half of Battlestar Galactica and I finished A Short History of Progress a couple of weeks ago.

The book was an interesting read, and I was surprised when I finished it since I was only two-thirds of the way through the book. The last seventy odd pages are notes, bibliography, and even an index!

[9:36 AM EDT - There's a car in that spot.]

I came home last night and was surprised to see a car parked in the spot next to me. That spot is normally empty so I can get my bike in and out of my spot without any problems. But, if someone was now going to start using that spot, I may have some issues..

[9:40 AM EDT - Yes, it is mostly cloudy.]

I knew that earlier forecasts had predicted rain today, but when I checked the weather for today, the forecast said that it would be cloudy all day. In fact, there was no mention of any precipitation during the day, so I was happy to don my motorcycle gear.

It did look a little wet outside though, and upon closer inspection, I saw that it was raining! I figured that it just might be a localized storm, so I went out on my bike anyway.

It rained all the way to work.

How the heck is this considered negligible precipitation?!? Sure, it was very light rain, but it is raining is it not?

Ah well, I need the rain riding practice anyway.

[Friday, September 29, 2006: Driving Conditions: It's cold, so very cold..]

On the ride home I was surprised by something: It was cold. It wasn't raining anymore, but the sky was still overcast and there was a very brisk wind from the north-east. My leather jacket kept my upper body warm and protected, but I could still feel the biting wind sap the heat from my torso, and my jeans were not keeping my legs very warm.

Even my bike didn't feel like it was radiating any heat at all. The crotch area usually gets blistering hot in the summer, but it was barely tepid this afternoon.

I did make it home in one piece, and my normally hot apartment felt so nice..
