[7:35 AM EDT - Mac Hall over.]

It seems like Mac Hall is finished (at least in it's current form).

[10:10 AM EDT - It would take about an hour.]

I was told that the physical would take about an hour. That's one of the reasons why I decided to take the day off. I got to the clinic on time, and was seen fairly promptly (since there were no other patients there). The check took less than fifteen minutes, and I was told to take my sample to the lab. I wondered what all the fuss was about with the time, until I got to the lab. It was packed.

I waited a good forty-five minutes before I was called up to get my blood sample. The blood letting only took a minute, and I was free to go. In total, the entire procedure did take about an hour. Three quarters of the time was spent waiting.

Throughout that period of time, the fire alarm was going off inconsistently. It was obviously a test of some sort as the alarm didn't stay on for very long. I only mention that because as I was riding back into the garage, I heard a strange, yet repetitive noise coming from the garage. My first thought was that there was a fire alarm going off, but I did not remember seeing any notices for fire drills or tests on the notice board.

My initial hypothesis was confirmed when I saw a fireman walking down the garage in my direction. I made my turn and found three other firemen milling about. They seemed to be looking for the source of the alarm. I'm guessing that it was a false alarm since they weren't shooing me out of the garage.

I was planning to take Squishy out for lunch for her birthday but that plan fell through. I also wanted to go and make a hospital visit, but that plan also seems to be falling through.

What is it with me and plans? Maybe I'll just show up somewhere and do something. That always seems to work out.

[10:21 AM EDT - Oh, and the measurements?]

Apparently I'm 160 pounds and 70 inches.

It's funny how people don't believe me when I tell them that I'm 5'10".

[10:03 PM EDT - Chain links are up.]

I've finished with the script, and it seems to validate. I had to use a kludge to get it working though, but I'm wondering whether or not I should just make the entire feed run off Atom? I know some of the pages are already formatted in a feed style, but I'm using my old HTML storage method and parsing the files with PHP. (It would make much more sense to store it as XML format, if not in a database, and format with XSL.)

I'm pretty sure that will be my next project, if I decide not to bang my head against the wall with updating the pictures. I really do want to get rid of that last pop up window by reformatting the images and adding video playback capability. I'm just worried about bandwidth limitations.

Well, it's not like anyone is really looking at my pictures anyway. (Not that I'm posting any new ones either.) But yes, converting from my HTML format to XML would be a good step forward..
