[8:59 PM EDT - So it's over.]

My vacation comes to an end. The wedding has come and gone, and our good weather has now passed.

I spent a lot of time reading the Icewind Dale Trilogy and finished The Crystal Shard and Streams of Silver. I have one more story to read before I can put the book away.

I've also done some preliminary cleaning of the apartment. My broom seems to be getting worse and worse at corralling the dust that's been building up in my unit. I swept the floor only to find dust bunnies all over the place.

Ah well, what else can I do?

I still have some chores to complete. I have a car to return, pants to be hemmed, items to pass along, and equipment to bring back. But I'll be back to my usual schedule..

I vacuum rather than dust or sweep whenever possible. Vacuums actually collect dirt; brooms just corral most of it and stir the rest. The first step of cleaning the bathroom is to vacuum every surface in it before using any water. I think bathrooms get so dusty because of toilet paper lint, yeah?

I usually vacuum up my dust pile after I've swept the room, but most of the dust is so light that it just flies off somewhere else each time I sweep. I'd need some sort of heavy base like sawdust if I wanted to trap all of the dust, but that's probably not good for the floor. I don't like the idea of vacuuming the floor itself as the generated wind can blow dust around. I was thinking of getting a Swiffer Sweeper instead.
