[9:06 AM EDT - Suffering a bit of withdrawal.]

Hrumph, it seems as if there are some wireless networks near my unit that have a broadband connection. I should look into getting my own..

I was talking with HT on Friday and he mentioned looking up Cogeco Cable.

girl sent along a link about Kobayashi winning yet another eating contest.

Hmm, I keep thinking about 'The Usual Suspects' whenever I hear the name Kobayashi.

[Tuesday, August 16, 2005: Getting some things out of the way.]

I have been mulling over this idea of just giving money as a gift at the next wedding. The SLWD told me that they had a gift registry but money was preferred. It would've been really easy for me to do, but money is so.. cheap?

Anyhoo, I decided to look at the registry to see if there was anything I could get. I had remembered that I got a gift card recently so this was a good time to use it! I also found a flyer that showed that there was a sale going on for one of the outstanding items. I figured that this was a good time to do some shopping.

After work (which was semi-productive), I headed out to get an air filter, some gel, and the gift. The air filter was harder to find than I had anticipated. I went by Rona and didn't find any filters of the same size, and then I went to Canadian Tire and they only had one which was close to the size of the filter in my unit. I decided to pick it up anyway.

Then I went to Yorkdale to do the rest of my shopping. I hadn't been there in many years and it was interesting to see how much the place has changed. Actually, I don't think I ever shopped there before (I only walked through or went around) so it was more of a touristy kind of trip.

It took me quite some time before I was able to find my quarry. The store was four levels and I ended up going through the top three levels (which were mostly clothes) before I found a directory noting that the stuff was on the lower floor. Argh!

Ah well, at least they had plenty of what I was looking for, and with the sale and gift card, the final price was reasonable.

Now all I have to do is find a card and wrap the darned thing..
