Speak of broken e-mail. Anyway, I got e-mail from my dad about the stop static campaign and in the message, it stated that cell phones can cause fires at gas pumps. I thought that was quite odd. The static electricity comment was much more believable. Anyway, the link has all the information about the static issue.

Over here they put up signs at petrol stations telling you to turn off your mobiles. I've never been that convinced, but sometimes the attendants yell at people who are talking on their mobiles, so they certainly seem to think it's a worry...

Well, this is the first time I've heard about cell phone issues at gas stations. It's not an issue here (yet).
