I missed out on Gamercamp on Saturday because of the funeral, but fortunately we only committed ourselves to helping out on Sunday. I had wanted to ride down, so as to avoid paying parking fees, but the rain killed that idea.
We did make it on time and was able to help out with the setup. Neither of us had any inkling of what was going on or what to do but everybody there were quite friendly and helpful.
Since MJNL and I were helping out with the doors and registration, we did not really get a lot of time to check out any of the demos, exhibits or talks. The Kinect room looked interesting, as did the Sumo bean bags. Some of the arcade boxes looked interesting to try out (if I had the time).
The people who participated in these talks did look like the people one would expect at these types of events. It was like CTRL-A all over again, except that everyone was five to ten years older.
Oh yes, out of some of the faces that looked recognizable included VW! He asked me how HKL was doing.
