[Tuesday, December 14, 2010: Princess Cays.]

Our first port day was at the 'Princess Cays'. Since there was no dock, we had to take the water taxi to ferry us from the boat to the island and back. This added about twenty minutes to our travel time to the island, mostly because we had to wait for a free taxi. MJNL wanted us to go earlier, but I wanted to avoid the crowds. In hindsight, we could have gone a little earlier to spend some more time on the island.

The weather was sunny, calm and warm, so it was a great time to try out the snorkel equipment we borrowed from CL and BL. I had never snorkeled before, but I did read up a bit on it so I do understand some of the theory. Actually, it is quite simple: Put your head in the water and breathe. Do not put the snorkel into the water if you do not want to drown.

I spent most of the day snorkeling while my parents relaxed with MJNL and explored our part of the island. I tried using TT's underwater camera but it stopped working after I put it underwater. It was not until afterward when I discovered that the seal was broken and water had gotten in, destroying the battery and card in the process. (Well, the battery did kind of suck since it had virtually no juice.)

So no water pictures for the next few days. My dad did take some with his camera though.

All in all, it was a nice and relaxing day at the beach, and I found out that I float very well in salt water!
