[Tuesday, December 14, 2010: First day at sea.]

In between our stops at 'Princess Cays' and 'Saint Martin', we had a day at sea. MJNL and I had originally wanted to try out some of the courses the ship offered for its passengers, but when we wandered down to look at the line dancing course, we discovered that everybody there was over twice my age..

We did some exploring instead.

I was surprised that the rocking of the boat stopped bothering me. I still could not eat all that much, but I did not feel nauseous during the other parts of the day.

We spent some time on the hot tub, and my parents spent some time (and some money) down in the Casino.

Oh yes, the ship also had some presentations on board about gems and shopping. I went to the gem presentation thinking that it would be a discussion about them, and although gems were shown, it was more of an infomercial style presentation where they were trying to get people to buy 'Tanzanite' and 'Ammonite' in addition to the usual precious stones.

I was actually a little annoyed that I wasted my time with that presentation (which occurred on the first day).

This morning, there was another shopping presentation (with free gifts!) in the theatre room. This time, the presentation was longer, there was more stuff that was being hawked, and MJNL got pretty sick by the middle of the presentation so she had to leave. I stuck around for a little longer because I figured that we spent time enough to get some stuff, but I never got any stuff and left before the presentation completed.

Tonight was also the first formal night of the cruise. The two of us dressed up (I had brought my tuxedo) and went to the piazza to check out the events and listen to the Captain give his speech. We then had dinner afterward and enjoyed our meal.
