I have not had the time to do any updates since my trip, but one thing I would like to mention (still) about the long day at the airport was how I was given one of the preferred seats located in the emergency exit row of the plane for my connecting flight. It was the least she could do to make my trip easier.
When I got on the plane, I was shocked to see that instead of extra legroom, I found two seats in front of my row! Only the window seat had no other seat in front, and I was sitting in the middle (of three) seats. Shafted again! *shakes fist*
I was a little shocked to see that the row had no real space to allow people to quickly disembark through the emergency exit. I was surprised that they were allowed to do this in the first place.
Unfortunately a quick Google search did not reveal any articles about the matter, but I am sure someone else has written (or tweeted) about this already.

Hmm, I can't remember -- is the emergency exit in the row with only 2 seats or in the row behind it? I think it makes more sense for the exit to be in the row with the 2 seats -- the space afforded by the missing seat will make it easier for you to step out onto the wing.
If I'm right, then that means you were sitting in the row *next* to the emergency row. If the emergency row is the best row to sit in then the rows adjacent to the emergency row are the worst because, yup, they have less leg room!
