[7:44 AM EST - Remember..]

So the date and venue are now set for our wedding! It will be taking place on December 22, 2011 at The Ritz-Carlton Kapalua. MJNL is so excited.

Congrats! Here are some planning suggestions:

1) Downhill Volcano Bike Ride. I wasn't able to track down the original article I read (I threw the magazine out) but it looks like there are very many companies that offer this. There's Mauna Kea on the main island and Haleakala on Maui. From what I've read, Haleakala is shorter (10,000 ft. drop in 38 miles) and is probably the more touristy of the two. Mauna Kea is considered a more "extreme" bike ride and it is the tallest peak (13,000 ft. in 43 miles). In addition to pavement there may be mountain biking options. Just google "bike", "volcano", and "Hawaii" and you should be able to find these companies. I'm sure all the tour guide books would have recommendations as well.

2) Air Fares. I remember Otto was able to secure a small discount for his wedding guests through Westjet. I wonder if you guys can try to do the same with WJ or AC? Mind you, this is during the holiday season so they may not budge. I wonder if chartering a whole plane would be cheaper (but they say chartering is more expensive?).

Keep us posted!

Oops, I meant "there aren't very many companies that offer this".
