HKL and I played several rounds of Artemis: Spaceship Bridge Simulator. It was kinda fun, after we figured out that you had to run as administrator for it not to crash on us. The demo version only really allows for three people to play, but the two of us were able to get things working with three machines. Unfortunately HKL was unable to see the main viewer so he could not enjoy watching the enemy ships get blown up, but as the helmsman, he actually had quite a lot of work.
With the two of us, we were able to complete 15 enemies at difficulty 3 in around 20 minutes. We will have to see if we can do better, and/or get more crew to help out..
Laz forwarded me a link to some information on a Freespace 2 mod based on the Battlestar Galactica universe called Diaspora. The trailer looks awfully good. It reminded me of the Babylon 5 mod using the Freespace 2 engine, which apparently was finished a couple of years back. (I have yet to try it out.)
While I was lurking around there, I found out that the series Caprica has been canceled, and a new BSG prequel called Blood and Chrome is coming out. That is too bad since Caprica is a good show, although it is certainly not the same space opera that the reimagined Battlestar Galactica was.
