[1:24 AM EST - Ran out of time.]

Okay, I had enough time to get an idea of how to do this new feed thing. Now I just have to find the time to relearn the code and then write it up. (I did start coding, but I have a funny feeling I broke something.)

[1:30 AM EST - This is really just a test.]

While I am here, I should mention that we won our hockey game!

[Monday, November 23, 2009: Surprise birthday fondue.]

Hakkaka held a surprise birthday party for AL. MJNL and I were tasked to put together a chocolate fondue for dessert. I spent some time looking up recipes and we picked out some things to dip into the chocolate. I do not have a fondue set at home, but MJNL's parents did have one, so we had everything that we needed.

I am not sure how surprised AL was because of his reaction when he stepped through the door. Namely, there was not much of one. Ah well, at least there was a lot of food, and these people were voracious! I spent most of lunch trying to get the chocolate fondue working, and by the time I got out to sample the dishes, most of them were gone! (Fortunately the Pad Thai was barely touched and I was able to gorge on that.)

Oh, I forgot to mention (since MJNL wanted me to highlight my clumsiness), RL brought his girlfriend over for the first time, and was nervous you see. While I was talking with RL or MJNL's dad, I turned to point into the dining room, and RL's girlfriend was where my arm was going. Well, the plate of food that she had in her hand ended up going all over the floor.

Oops.

Yes, I helped clean up.

Apparently I use my hands a lot to communicate. Perhaps I should learn sign language. (There would be less chance of me hitting people.)

In any case, our chocolate fondue separated. The oil and solids came apart after we melted the chocolate and I had to whisk it back together again. Unfortunately, they separated again and no amount of whisking was able to get them mixed together and it did not work too well in the fondue fountain (I thought they had a fondue pot!). Our second attempt was just as bad, so MJNL and I went out to buy more chocolate. When we got back, we found out that PL got it working. She just kept adding milk until it started to flow.

Perhaps more research on my end is needed.
