MJNL was away last weekend to visit her sister in Sarnia. The main reason was actually to go shopping, but I was not going to complain since I got the whole weekend to myself to relax!
So I thought.
On Friday night, one of our clients was planning on implementing a new build and I found an issue with the system. We stayed until nine to get the system to a point where it would function at a perceptible speed. I ended up skipping lunch and did not have dinner until I got home.
On Saturday I had enough time to eat before going out to K-Boy's welcome back party. I met a few people I have not seen in.. years! It was nice to relax and catch up with some people after such a long period of time.
I stuck around until theMediaman and his crew were finished watching the Blue Jays game. The plan was to go to C'est What for dinner and drinks. I rode down to K-Boy's party, and then rode downtown to the bar. As I approached, I noticed that traffic was particularly heavy and then it hit me: Buskerfest.
I ended up parking a little down the street since there was no other place and waded my way through the buskers to the bar. I caught glimpses of some of the shows, but I was quite intent on making it to the bar in a not-so-sweaty state.
I found the place without a problem, and there were only two people there that I recognized. The others were family, or friends that I had never met before. theMediaman's family is quite an entertaining crew. I can see where he gets his personality from. We played pool for some time before we sat down for our meal, although I was still full from my late lunch and fruits that I had at K-Boy's party.
Afterwards, we headed out to another place for drinks, and planned to meet up with Growly and Ben. I got to the place first, and was resigned to standing around while the rest of the group walked over (since I rode) when I saw Growly and Ben sauntering down the street! I hadn't seen Growly for a bit, so I walked with them for a little while before heading back to meet up with the main group.
I stuck around for a few hours before calling it a night.
The next day I got up and immediately got a call regarding work: something was not working. I spent the next couple of hours getting ready and figuring out the problem and fixing it. After that, I finished reading 'Lone Wolf and Cub', which is a fantastic series, and so sad. (Lots of fighting too.)
Later on Sunday night, I went out to MJNL's aunt's place for a bit of food (although I had already eaten dinner), picked up MJNL, and came home with all of her loot.
