[4:39 PM EDT - Feeling a little sick.]

I wasn't feeling all that good this morning so I took the day off work today. The cough still hasn't gone away, but at least my throat's not that bad. I probably still sound like crap though.

At least I got some things done. I couldn't stay asleep, with all this stuff over my head, so I got around to renting a truck, getting the wedding money, getting stamps, returning those bottles (at ten cents a pop), and cleaning up the place.

I have a fair bit of crap still lying around though. It's well hidden for those who don't know, but I know it's still there. Gotta get around to finishing up my cleanup project.

It's too bad I didn't have any chicken noodle soup, but I did have some last night. I guess it didn't help, but it was tasty at least!

I still have other things to worry about though..

[4:57 PM EDT - Listen to your gut.]

There's been something that's been bothering me for a while now. On the drive back to Memphis before my return flight home, I was listening to the radio and they were playing DHT's rendition of "Listen to your Heart". The DJ's came on later and mentioned that the song was based on an earlier (and fairly popular) version of the song. They couldn't quite remember who sang it, until one of the DJ's said that it was Heart.

At that point, I did a double take. Shouldn't DJ's know about fairly recent music history? Okay, I figured that someone will remember and correct them, but then they continued on and started talking about Heart and the songs that they did, saying how "Listen to your Heart" was popular.

Okay, so maybe they really did get mixed up. I figured that someone would call in to correct them. I listened for the next half hour and nobody called in, nor were there any corrections made. Now this made me wonder if they were really telling the truth? Perhaps my knowledge of 80's popular and contemporary music wasn't as vast as I had originally believed.

So I did some snooping around and couldn't find any mention of "Listen to your Heart" being done by Heart. It was either DHT or Roxette. But, maybe I'm mistaken. Someone can correct me on that.

Ah, now I can forget about this entire incident.

[Tuesday, October 25, 2005: Cleaning the detector.]

While I was home, the condo sent in someone to clean and test the smoke detector. There were a number of false alarms in the past few months due to the construction dust that was clogging the devices. If the alarm goes off and the residents aren't home, then the fire department is called in. There have been so many false alarms that the fire department must have threatened the building so they went to this extreme. (Actually, they had posted a message in the elevators to ask residents to clean their smoke detectors but I don't think anyone really did try cleaning them out.)

Oh well, they were in and out in a couple of minutes. It was painless actually.
