[9:51 AM EDT - Hey, that's my spot!]

I got home after a long day at work and noticed something odd. The Smart car that was normally parked in front of the pillar was now parked behind the pillar. Then it dawned on me: It was in my parking spot! It was positioned in such a way that it took up both spots in between the two pillars, so I couldn't park next to it. Well, I went in to tell security about this infraction. I'm assuming that the person must have gotten back tired or something because Smart cars don't take up much space, much less two spots!

[10:35 AM EDT - No Internet makes QYV something something..]

Hmm, I would've thought that this lack of an Internet connection would've made me a bit more.. annoyed?

I've found that the time I've spent on the computer at home has dropped to nearly zero now that I don't have any sort of access to the web. This is probably a good thing. Mind you, I've been spending a lot of time doing other stuff like cleaning the apartment, and getting things organized. But there are still some chores I need to do that require an Internet connection, so I will probably have to get some sort of high speed connection in the future.

I've noticed that I've been spending more time watching television. I guess both can be considered huge time sinks. I've been keeping the TV off lately and just keeping the radio on instead. Having background noise is easier to ignore rather than background visuals. (Television is more engaging than the radio.)

In the end, I'm able to live without high speed (and a microwave at that - and hopefully cable), but only while my server's still at my parent's place. I'll play it by ear.

[12:40 PM EDT - Chain Links: Aptitude Test.]

LY sent along a link to a self-referential aptitude test. It was fun. It took a couple hours to do so it wasn't too hard.

[Thursday, July 7, 2005: Truck airbag.]

Apart from my pooched wrist, there were a couple of other things that caught my attention this night. On the way home from badminton, one of the warning lights came on on the dashboard. It was the "Side Airbag Off" light, but it would only stay on for ten seconds at most before turning off again. It only happened that night, and hasn't happened since, so I'm not sure what the cause was. (Maybe I had something pressed on the side? I was moving a bit of stuff that night.)

The second thing occurred when I was passing through the security gates. I noticed a cube truck parked in the driveway down to the garage. It was on the side of the road, so I was going to pass around it, but as I approached, it started up and blocked the road. Then it started backing up slowly, and eventually got itself out via the side exit. By then, the garage door had already closed, so I had to go out, and go back in to activate the door! Argh! Why didn't he let me pass? Ironically enough, as I was leaving the driveway, another car had pulled up to the gate to enter, activating the garage door. So if I had waited just a bit longer..

[Thursday, July 7, 2005: From what information I gathered, I think the airbag issue was due to a combination of a hard turn and my cargo. The cargo got shifted to one side of the car, impacting the side which may have triggered the sensors to turn off the airbag.]
