I woke up around ten and found Werdna playing.. Starcraft(?) on his system. I decided to do some playing around too while we figured out what the plan was for the rest of the day. We were supposed to meet up with some people for dinner, and I had to tutor that day. After waffling around for a while and eating breakfast, we ended up going to watch "Harry Potter" before heading out to meet up with the people we were supposed to meet.
The movie was okay. It was more-or-less how I expected it to go, although having read the book recently, I noticed many glaring omissions and changes to the story. Just about all of the changes had to do with character development so it didn't really take away from the movie for people who haven't read the books, but it still erked me every time I they switch scenes and I was thinking "Hey.. didn't they skip such-and-such?".
The movie was fairly good from the non-readers in the group, and the effects were pretty good. There were a few points where I couldn't really suspend belief, but again, I think this had something to do with having read the books. Actually, the series really gets interesting in book three with the introduction of Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs. But I'm getting ahead of myself.
After the movie (which lasted a long two-and-a-half hours) we headed out to the bar to meet up with the folks. I couldn't stay long because of my tutoring engagement (which will not continue during the Christmas break) and couldn't stay to eat. Heck, I didn't even have time to finish my water. I took on the task of picking up an adapter from Radio ShackNews for MJO's laptop because we wanted to have a Diablo 2 session that night. So I went and checked out the shop and didn't find it. (We had called in earlier to confirm it's existance.) Upon inquiry, I was told that they didn't have anything that could handle anything for a laptop and why don't I try another store? *looks at watch* Maybe later. I got back home to eat dinner, clean up, and do some laundry before heading back to Laz's place (with Werdna in tow) to play some more Starcraft (since we couldn't get the Diablo 2 thing going). We played until elevenish when I called it a night. I had to work the next day you know. So we packed up our things and went our separate ways..
