MJNL and I decided to stay in town to take advantage of some of the free admission for some of museums in town. The first one was 'The National Museum of Denmark'. We wanted to make it for eleven because that was when the English guided tour was being given. However, when we got there, we were told that the English tour was tomorrow! Gah!
Undaunted, we went through the museum on our own. We went through the history of Denmark, which was interesting since they had a lot of artifacts and tons of hordes of gold and silver that were found in the area.
After the museum, we headed to Det Lille Apotek for some authentic Danish cuisine. MJNL ordered a Holberg plate, while I tried out the 'Steak tartare'. Both dishes are apparently very Danish meals, but when I ordered my dish, the waitress asked,
"Did you know that the meat is uncooked?"
Which I did not. The menu did not actually mention that the meet was raw. However, I was up for trying new stuff, and I have already had beef 'tataki', so I figured that it would be something similar. The waitress insisted on showing me some other beef dishes however, but I was okay with eating raw beef.
When I went to the washroom, the waitress accosted me again, telling me that I could have the meat cooked, but I told her that I will try it out uncooked.
So when the meat finally came out, I did not realize that it was basically raw ground beef. Not to mention the raw egg yolk and extras. Well, I tried it out and found out that it really did not have a lot of taste. Oh well.
Afterward, we went shopping before heading to walking over to the Royal Danish Naval Museum. We hung around there for an hour before walking down to 'Freetown Christiania' to see what it was like. Well, we did not stay there for long, and headed back home where we had dinner with girl, Dangerman, S and J.
Finally we watched 'Children of Men'.
