[Monday, May 19, 2008: The fireworks go Bang!]

The next day, we slept in. We had pancakes for breakfast before heading out to explore. It had rained in the morning, but the precipitation stopped falling by the time we had started eating our meal. We were not sure what the weather was supposed to be like, so we stayed in for a while after lunch (which was right after breakfast since we finished eating after noon). The kids played some MJ, and then we went outside when the sun came out.

They had paddle boats here, so four of us got some life jackets and paddled out to one of the larger islands on the bay. The water was fairly calm, but it was quite windy, so it took some effort to fight against the flow. But it was good exercise, and we made good time. The island was rocky and barren. We found lots of crab legs and claws, and some egg shells. We made one of those native stone statues before heading back to camp.

We spent more time inside, while I got to do some tricks with the lacrosse sticks with RL. After playing around with it a bit, it seems like a fun sport to play, although I do not think I would be able to play all that well in my current condition.

After dinner, we played a few games of Bang! (I got so close as the Renegade!) and set off some fireworks. The other cottages were setting off their own fireworks tonight as well, so the evening silence was broken by quite a number of large explosions.
