[12:00 PM EST - No subject.]

One day of relaxation left.. or so I thought. Spent most of the morning wondering why the weather was so good. Lyrics from "I can see clearly now" ran through my head, and I tried to figure a good time to go to the university (to do work and other not so worky stuff). Unfortunately, taking a peek outside showed that mother nature left a nice foot of snow for us to munch on. Seeing that I only had my Airwalks (with no insulation and an inch and a half high) for foot protection, I figured that my feet would be cast in ice by the time I made it across to safety.

Solution: Shovel the sidewalk. Problem: No snow shovel.

Solution: Get it from the garage. Problem: Garage door does not open.

What the hell, none of us could figure why either garage door wouldn't open (the big one or the small one). It wasn't until by some lucky stroke ChuckL was able to unlock the small door and get access (apparently there was some doohickey that HNT set up so that you couldn't open the door without a sledgehammer). Well, ChuckL found a shovel and started shoveling. Of course, if we had more shovels, Hazel and I could actually help too (instead of tag teaming). With this logic in mind, and the fact that we couldn't go out to buy a shovel until we cleared the driveway made this problem really annoying.. until we made a more through search of the garage and found (to our astonishment) two more snow shovels!

Course, I still didn't find my bike.. Oh, didn't I mention that my bike was stolen?? I came home a couple of weeks ago and found the garage door open and my bike gone. Everything else was there (including HNT's bird cage, the spare tires, HIS bike, the garage door opener, various wooden objects, and a perfectly good garbage can) which baffled me since I actually feel sorry for those people who now own my bike.. It was completely rusted, the brakes didn't work, one of the pedals fell off, I have only a few low gears (the derailleur rusted), the seat's as hard as my head, and the handle bar foam is decomposing. They also got my rusty u-lock. Course, maybe they were feeling sorry for me and wanted to steal it so they could throw it out. That or they've already crashed into a tree or something. Whatever. I'll get a new bike eventually, but for the 9 years I've had the bike, and the thousands of kilometers of road and crap that I rode on, just one thing: It was great.

Anyway, it took us about an hour to clear up the driveway, and obviously we didn't have to go out to buy a shovel at that point. Still, groceries are good, and I finally was convinced to get a more insulated pair of shoes. When I finally made it to the school, it was nine, and my program didn't work. (Gosh darned it) Maybe I'll just go home and sleep.
