[Sunday, October 31, 2010: Artemis is not a Civilization.]

I ended up playing Artemis: Spaceship Bridge Simulator with HKL and MJO for part of the morning/afternoon. I had originally wanted to try out Civilization V with MJO, but my system does not seem to want to run the game! How sad!

However, I was able to convince MJO to install Artemis: Spaceship Bridge Simulator and the three of us went out to blow up enemy ships and save our star bases. Unfortunately, since I was hosting the game, I was the only one who was able to see the main viewscreen. Having control of only the helm or weapons, the other two had no real view of the battles or the bigger picture.

However, we did prove that the game can be played over the Internet. Our next step in getting the game working better is to host the host on a VNC server, and have everybody remote into that server so that they can see the remote screen. It might just work!

A lower tech solution would be for you to turn on your webcam via Skype and aim it at the host computer's screen.

Unfortunately that would require a webcam. (And for me, a shirt!)

Ahem, as I wrote above *AIM IT AT THE HOST COMPUTER'S SCREEN*.
