[7:22 AM EST - Incorrect traffic reports.]

I listen to 680 NEWS quite a bit when I am driving around in my car so that I can keep on top of the traffic conditions when I am out on the roads, but there have been instances where their information is either out of date or incorrect.

A couple of weeks ago when we were going to my parent's place, we passed by an accident on the highway on the collector lanes near Yonge. There was a multiple car collision with a truck cab. It must have been fairly recent since emergency services had not arrived yet, but there were plenty of other people around. In any case, we heard on the radio that there was an accident, but they thought it was in the express lanes.

After several minutes of figuring out what to do, we called up their traffic number to inform them of their mistake. Apparently the traffic reporter moved the camera and was able to see that she had made a mistake. The next time the report came on the air, they correctly reported the location of the accident (but probably after funneling a lot of now-irate drivers into the blocked collector lanes).

Another instance of incorrect reports came yesterday when I was driving MJNL to work. We heard on the news that the traffic lights were out at Lawrence and Avenue. We were sitting at the intersection at that time and the traffic lights were working fine. *shrug*
