It was Hakkaka's thirtieth birthday today, and AL had planned a surprise party for her. A number of us go together on Saturday after the one month baby lunch for one of their cousins (at Starwalk Buffet). We got together at MJNL's parents' place to celebrate her birthday and play games. (Mah Jong mostly.) We even had a cake and decorations as well!
When Sunday rolled around the plan was to meet up at PW's place to surprise Hakkaka. They had "planned" to go watch Rock of Ages but needed to drop off ML to the babysitter. The entire family was waiting at the house for quite some time actually before they showed up, but when we burst out of the shadows, it was like a deer in headlights.
That was only the first surprise. After a few hours, the second surprise arrived: AL had gotten Chef Jono to come and cater our party. We had the dinner for two, but for sixteen. The food was really good, and it was fun to watch him prepare the meal. (Some of us helped out as well.)
It was too bad nobody was filming the actual surprise, but there were lots of photos of the event.
