[Sunday, October 18, 2009: Deep Fried Turkey.]

Today I spent most of the day working on MJNL's laptop to figure out why it was having so many problems. It took me a few hours of fiddling around before I was able to clean off a number of programs and discovered a registry permissions issue that prevented the computer from being updated by a number of the Microsoft Updates.

Hopefully it will run a little faster now.

I also wanted to do a bit of cleaning but all I really got done was a little bit of laundry.

In any case, I headed down to the party that AC was having (at his friend's place) for deep fried turkey. I arrived a little late, and by the time I got there, the house was packed! I thought that there would only be thirty odd people; There was over twice that number packed into the bungalow. Around ninety percent were Chinese!

Also, by the time I had gotten there, they had already gone through two turkeys and was working on a third one. (There were six in total.) The sides were also coming out one at a time, but each time another dish came out (Sheppard's pie, or eggplant parmigiana) it disappeared in minutes: If you did not rush to get food, you got nothing.

I only recognized several people there from work, but nobody from our side of the company showed up but me. I was a little surprised at that actually.

When the Turkey did finally come out, there was a mob around the table like a bunch of vultures. I did manage to grab some meat and some leftovers, and it was good! The meat was so moist and juicy. The skin was so tasty! It was also very succulent and flavourful. Not like the turkeys I have eaten in the past (except for the Turducken).

I joked that this was a recipe for a new restaurant. We would call it TFT: Toronto Fried Turkey. (We would set up shop down at the Ex, and get people to chant it during soccer games.)

I could not stay very long at the party though. I had hockey to go to, although eating so much right before the game was not the best thing to do. I did manage to arrive on time, but I did not play all that well. (This not moving around all that much business does not help.)

But we managed to win in the shootout somehow.
