[7:23 AM EST - A little catchup I guess.]

Okay, I have been falling way behind on the updates. Let's see what I remembered.

On Saturday, girl and I threw a surprise birthday party for our mom. We thought that it was her 60th, but due to incomplete or incorrect information, the actual age was contested, but the surprise was sincere. We were planning for several months in advance (it was girl's idea) to get some of her friends and family out for a nice dinner. Part of the problem was trying to get in contact with those friends without alerting her. We did that through EC. The other key to the plan was not telling our dad about the party. When we had the babysitter reunion, our dad spilled the beans long before the party, we we did not want another babygate and kept him in the dark.

Another problem we had was housing. We had people from out of town, and there was no way for me to host them all. We used the excuse that girl was in town to convince our parents to let them sleep over without alerting to the fact that they were in town for other reasons.

The last difficult portion was getting our mom to go to the restaurant. We had to convince her to take us out to that restaurant and we did that by getting Dangerman to insist on going there. Problem solved!

In any case, we had about thirty people show up, and everyone had a good time.

On Sunday, we had brunch with girl, Dangerman, CS and BL at Oliver and Bonnicini. Then we had dinner at my parent's place before having some bubble tea with Pokey and a bunch of girl's friends.

We skipped badminton on Monday. Broomball was okay on Tuesday.

Wednesday was the AGM for our condo. The meeting went very well actually. The budget presentation was much more concise and well explained than in previous years.

What was interesting was that we went shopping at Shopper's Drug Mart and some guy came up to me who I completely did not recognize. He asked me if I was going to be playing this summer, so I figured that it was someone from ultimate. (My memory is terrible if you all recall.)

For a while I thought he was mistaken but he started talking about me playing in my jeans, and I knew that he remembered the correct guy. I don't think he remembered my name either, and well, we left it at that.

[7:54 AM EST - I forgot about the smell..]

So the reason why we went to Shoppers Drug Mart last night was to pick up some air freshener because we were still getting that awful broccoli smell. It was surprisingly difficult to find the source for that funky odour.

The smell originally was just inside the fridge, the source being the broccoli that my mom gave us over a week ago. Once the fridge was cleaned out, we noticed that the smell was in the kitchen the next day.

The fridge still smelled a little bad so I mixed up the baking soda to see if it would help. We also turned on the fans to clear out the air. The fridge smelled clean, but the kitchen smelled bad the very next day.

Next up was washing the counter and throwing out the garbage. Again, we kept the window open and the fans running. It smelled better in the morning, but when after closed the window, the smell came back the very next day.

We started to get a little desperate and used the scent spray can from my mom (which smelled terrible actually), and MJNL wiped down the counter. Again we aired out the apartment but the smell came back the very next day.

We were going crazy trying to find the source and I found the smell emanating from the dish washer, so I cleaned out the trap (which had hair and mold), and ran the system a couple of times to clean it out. We aired out the apartment again (during the coldest part of the year you know) and you know what? The smell came back, the very next day.

The dish washer was smelling good, and we just had about enough of the smell so we went to Shoppers Drug Mart to get air freshener. But before we used it, we wiped down the rest of the counter space and poured bleach down the sink.

Again, the window was opened and..

The smell was gone this morning.

I am not holding my breath on this, but hopefully things will be okay this afternoon?
