MJNL and I went downtown to have some Greek food during this year's 'Taste of the Danforth'. The decision was not quite last minute. I had suggested going before, but the weather forecast was unfavourable. However, once I got back from work and checked out the weather, I discovered that the night would be warm and clear: perfect for strolling around outside.
Finding parking was easy for my bike, although I would find out later that I had parked in a no parking area. I got a parking ticket, along with most of the cars in the area. Curses! I should have looked at the signs, rather than followed the crowd!
*shakes fist*
However, back to the story at hand.
After a wrong turn I made that burned some extra gas and time, we found ourselves at one end of the venue, so we ended up walking from one end, to the other. I was in the mood for a sit down dinner, so we did not get in line for any food. It was busy, but not as crazy as it probably will be this weekend (despite the weather). We ended up going to Megas, which was packed. The food was pretty good. At least my beef 'Moussaka' was very tasty, and the potatoes were good. The chicken 'Souvlaki' and the rice were not really good.
We then picked up a dozen honey balls, which I found were not impressive. They tasted like 'Gulab Jamun' but were more doughy and sticky. It did not feel as clean as 'Gulab Jamun' either.
That was about it. We had a good time.
