Oops. I've got some bookkeeping to catch up on. I had forgotten about all the transactions I made on Friday so my numbers are a bit off.
I went to yet another recruitment meeting. I've actually been assigned something to do despite my best attempts at avoiding work. Well, it's kind of hard to when I'm the only person there who isn't really assigned to do anything.
I read in the paper this morning about some new method for creating the filiment for an incandescent bulb that should improve efficiency. I'm all for that! However, when I was reading up on the details of how this mechanism works, I came across this:
"..and emit more infrared light waves than heat waves."
For those of you who haven't taken any spectroscopy course, infrared radiation IS heat. So basically, the guy who wrote this article didn't know what he was talking about. So what else is new?
On the way back from the meeting, I filled up on gas. Prices shot up nearly four cents from the time I left work (64.1) to the time I got to the pump (67.9). When I tried to pick up the nozzle, I found out that it was locked! What the..? But then I remembered that time the station ran out of the low octane (87) gas and ended up giving out the medium grade (89) at the lower price! It was the same thing here! Woo hoo!
Okay, time to sleep. I played Civ 3 a lot tonight. I'm just about finished (yet again) with another successful game. I'm going to see if I can win the space race. From what Laz was telling me, it can't be done..
