[Sunday, September 25, 2011: Riding out the invites.]

MJNL had to work today, so I took the opportunity to go out for a ride in the nice weather. I used the excuse of returning some shirts and handing out wedding invitations to go for a circuitous route around the city and get in some riding time before the roads get salted.

First stop was Vaughan Mills, where traffic and parking was terrible. Fortunately, I just parked my bike in an open hashed area dropped off the shirts and was able to squeeze my way out of there unmolested.

Next was to drop off the invites for DT and family. Unfortunately, they weren't home, but the kids were! I think they must have taken quite some time to decide to answer the door because I was standing outside for several minutes. I wonder if they were told not to open the door to strange people rather than strangers.

In any case, the next stop was to LW and family. Just after I pulled into the driveway and got off the bike, a car pulled into the driveway. No, it was not one of my cousins, but KW and MW! I had not seen them in years! While I was talking with them, Windelynn drove up with more of their clan that I have not met in a long time (or at all).

Windelynn and MW wanted to ride my bike, so I told them,

"If you bring your helmet, you can ride the bike."

No, they did not bring their helmets.

Oh, coincidentally enough, Windelynn was talking about MJNL and my wedding just before they came around the corner. It must have been a surprise to see me there after talking about me!

Unfortunately I was on the clock, so I had to leave. I told them to give me a call the next time they were in town so we could meet the better halves.

Next up was KW and family. Fortunately CW was home, so I was able to apologize for the change of date. It was because of the date change that they decided not to come. (But it was not our fault!)

So all in all, a pretty good and productive ride!
