MJNL and I went out to dinner at Akina Japanese Cuisine on the recommendation of Garfield. Reviews have mentioned that the service was much to be desired, and that it only gets worse when they were busy.
It was not very busy when we got there, which was a good sign. We were served fairly promptly, but when we were asking what hokkigai was, the waitress told us (in her strong Chinese accent),
"Soft crab."
Soft crab? Strange, never heard of that before. We'll take two.
Ah, I should not have been surprised to see two pieces of surf clam on our dish of sashimi.
The service was not bad, and the food was decent for all you can eat. We probably will go back if we were in the area, and it was not busy..
