I was driving MJNL to work and got rear ended. It sounded pretty loud and the car jerked, but when I went to inspect the damage, I did not notice any serious damage to the car. The only thing I found was a little dent on the lower half of the rear bumper on the driver's side. The other car had damage, but apparently that was there from beforehand. The other driver also mentioned that he thought he got hit from behind as well but did not see any damage.
Hrm, I took pictures of the insurance papers and car license, but we never got the driver's license information. Fortunately the contact information is on the insurance slip.

Details, details.
The accident took place at the intersection of Eglinton Avenue and Avenue Road at 7:45 AM EDT. The skies were clear and it was a sunny, warm day. Traffic was relatively light, and there was no construction in the area. We had been travelling south in the left lane on Avenue Road and came to a stop at a red light. There were no cars in front of us but there were cars on either side of us and I put the car in neutral. We had been stopped for a few seconds when there was a loud bang and the car jerked forward.
After making sure we were still okay in the car, I turned on the hazard lights and checked the surrounding area before getting out to inspect the damage. MJNL came out to talk to the driver and exchange information. I did not notice any initial damage to the rear end of my car, although the other car had some damage to the front bumper. The driver claimed that the damage was there from before. After a couple of minutes of examining the cars and initial information exchange, we pulled into the Petro Canada at the corner of the intersection to complete the information exchange.
