[7:46 AM EST - Dream Sequence: Visiting Gunner.]

This morning I had a pretty vivid dream.

It started with some sort of trip to Laz's place. MJO and I think RRB were both visiting his parents' house along with I. I had forgotten that we were staying the night, and did not have anything to wear to bed. No matter, whatever I had on was good enough, as I slipped under the covers. I then realized that there were only two beds in the room, so I wanted to check on the other two to see if they were okay with their accommodations. I found both MJO and RRB in another extremely large room (I assumed that it was Laz's sister's ex room) with about ten beds and realized that I had not needed to worry: The house was more than well prepared for guests.

Next, I was driving Laz and MJNL to dance class. It was a fairly uneventful drive through the suburbs when I came up upon some young guys walking to and fro across the street in front of us. The closest one was hanging onto a large assault rifle as he wandered in front of my car. I had to hit the brakes to avoid running him over, but he paid no heed as he slowly meandered back onto the divider.

I muttered to myself as I prepared to drive past, but I continued to watch him as he threw his gun onto the ground and picked up one of the several rifles that were strewn across the divider. "Where did these guns come from?" I wondered.

He had passed by the other two guys that were walking on the street, turned around, and began to open fire. He sent a hail of bullets at the two men, and me. I quickly hit the gas to drive past the shooting, and saw the two men grappling with the shooter as I went around the group. I told someone to call 911 as Laz mentioned that he was on it.

We made it to the dance studio in one piece, but when we got there, we realized that we had arrived on the morning after our actual dance lesson (which was last night)! Bah. We chatted with one of the instructors, and RRB (who was there). I asked them if they heard the gunfire, and mentioned that we were the ones being shot at.

Since we had nothing else to do, we left the studio and retraced our steps. We drove past the spot where we saw the gunner and noticed nothing: no gunner, no police, no guns. But a little further ahead, we saw him walking along the divider again. We passed by, but I figured that we should keep an eye on him so that the police will be able to find him quickly. I turned the car and pulled the handbrake, spinning the car around. I hit the gas but the car did not move for a very long time as my tires spun.

Yeah, I had some pretty sucky tires. We watched the digital speedometer increase until we gained traction and began to speed back towards the gunman. We passed again, and I realized that this was probably a pretty dangerous thing to do. We stopped for a left turn and I began to worry that he would be able to catch up and shoot us. (Although we were at the front of the column and I could have driven off.)

Fortunately, some rider snuck up beside us on the left and became a barrier between us and the divider. Poor guy, there were some other people on the divider that were giving him a hard time. Someone pushed his bike and it hit my car.

After the confrontation, the rider apologized for hitting my car, but I told him not to worry about it. The light turned green, and we were able to turn and drive away. We had plenty of time as the shooter was taking his time. I was trying to figure out what to do next..
