This 'Mech was designed by Clan Punisher to optimize most of the structural technologies on a 100 ton command 'Mech. Though expensive, this 'Mech is designed for the star commanders who prefer the mobility of the Executioner but are not satisfied with the weapons layout and armor of that 'Mech design.
Being a limited run, approximately a dozen were produced. All are in the hands of Clan Punisher, except for one, which ended up in the hands of Star Commander Stark of Clan Snow Raven. How this 'Mechwarrior acquired it is unknown, but it is believed, from the condition of the 'Mech, that it was given to the commander, possibly as a gift.
It is believed that Star Colonel OMNI pilots a modified Punisher. The battle footage showing his 'Mech in action indicated that the 'Mech was considerably more powerful than expected. This leads to the conclusion that his 'Mech is equipped with triple strength myomer which may have been acquired through Clan Wolf or Omnicorp.
The primary configuration are for 'Mechwarriors that prefer the range and accuracy of the large pulse laser when tied to a targeting computer. Though not as powerful as the Warhawk, The accuracy and lower heat generated by the weapons offsets this drawback.
Alternate configuration A is designed primarily for urban of heavy woods combat where short range weapons are more effective than long range ones. The nine medium pulse lasers supply enough firepower to devastate most lighter 'Mechs especially when tied to the targeting computer. The large pulse laser is added insurance for any possible long range targets.
Alternate configuration B is used mainly for fire support and if the battle is not expected to come too close or become to intense. The lack of ammunition for this variant is a limiting factor, but it is still liked for its heavy long range firepower.
There are no known variants of this 'mech.
