Overview

This 'Mech was originally designed as a member of a series of 'Mechs that were to fill certain 'Mech classes that Clan Punisher were unable, or unwilling to manufacture. Unfortunately, the project was quickly halted as the costs and resources required to produce these 'Mechs greatly outweighed the benefits that these designs could bring.

The Porthos was designed as a replacement for the Warhawk as it had superior heat dissipation abilities and the heavier internal structure allows more armor to be mounted than its smaller cousin. Unlike the other designs, the Porthos was produced in limited numbers before the overall costs of production began to strain the Clan's resources. Despite having only a small number of 'Mechs come off the assembly line, the few that were produced have performed admirably.

Capabilities

The primary configuration is nearly identical to the primary configuration of the Warhawk. The Porthos primary lacks a missile rack but the eight extra double heatsinks make up for this loss in firepower. Both have similar capabilities though the Warhawk has superior firepower, it cannot sustain a continuous barrage as well as the Porthos.

Alternate configuration A has the same capabilities as the Battle Master IIC.

Alternate configuration B has no known origin or design purpose. This configuration was seen being used during a trial of possession in heavily wooded terrain on the planet Helse. Pilots that got close enough to spot this 'Mech usually did not survive to report back.

Variants

There are no known variants of this 'mech.
